Honoring Distinguished Service, Leadership, and Excellence in Pharmacy

The Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) launched the Fellow of TPA (FTPA) program in 2025. This professional designation serves as an esteemed recognition of professional achievement, service, and dedication to the pharmacy profession. As part of TPA’s Annual Awards Program, this honor will be awarded to select pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the profession and a longstanding commitment to TPA.

What is the FTPA Designation?

The Fellow of TPA designation is a symbol of excellence and leadership in pharmacy in our state. Honorees will receive the credential FTPA, a lifelong recognition that signifies their dedication to advancing pharmacy practice, mentoring others, and engaging with professional and advocacy initiatives.

This prestigious award is modeled after national honors such as the APhA or ASHP Fellow designation and represents one of the highest distinctions bestowed by TPA.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this honor, candidates must:

• Be a licensed pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician for a minimum of 10 years.

• Have held TPA membership for at least 5 years.

• Demonstrate significant and sustained contributions to the profession, including but not limited to:

  • Service within TPA and other pharmacy organizations,

  • Mentorship or preceptorship of future pharmacy professionals,

  • Legislative and regulatory advocacy,

  • Research, scholarly work, or practice innovation.

Nomination and Application Process

Applications may be self-submitted or submitted on behalf of a colleague. Each application must include:

• A completed nomination form,

• A detailed account of the nominee’s professional contributions,

• Two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the nominee’s achievements and impact.

The TPA and TSHP Awards Committees will review all applications and select honorees based on their cumulative impact on the profession.
