On March 20, 2025, the Tennessee Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation (TPREF) proudly unveiled the Baeteena Black Wellness and Recovery Room at the Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) offices, located at 1732 Lebanon Pike Circle in Nashville, TN.

Named in honor of Baeteena Black, D.Ph., this dedicated space recognizes her lifelong commitment to the well-being of pharmacy professionals. As the Program Director of the Tennessee Pharmacy Recovery Network (TPRN) from 1996-2022 and TPA Executive Director from 1994-2014, Dr. Black was a tireless advocate for those struggling with substance use disorder, providing unwavering support to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and students in need.

Pharmacy professionals face significant risks of burnout and stress, with increased access to potentially impairing medications further heightening their vulnerability. The TPRN, managed by TPREF, provides a confidential and comprehensive peer assistance program to help those in need while safeguarding patient care and the integrity of the profession.

The Baeteena Black Wellness and Recovery Room stands as a testament to Dr. Black’s legacy, offering a space for reflection, support, and renewal.
