TPA Honors Carolina D. Davis With Student Allegiance Award
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Pharmacists Association has named Carolina D. Davis, PharmD candidate, Class of 2026, as the recipient of the TPA Student Allegiance Award, recognizing her exceptional leadership, advocacy and commitment to student engagement.
Davis is a student pharmacist at East Tennessee State University’s Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy. She has served the TPA-Tennessee Society of Student Pharmacists as a member-at-large and delegate since her P1 year and currently serves as TPA’s inaugural executive intern in association management.
Through her leadership roles, Davis has encouraged student pharmacists to recognize their collective voice, seek meaningful mentorship and engage actively in advancing the profession. Her efforts have strengthened student involvement within TPA and helped foster a culture of early professional engagement across the state.
The Student Allegiance Award honors a student pharmacist who demonstrates sustained dedication to TPA and the future of the pharmacy profession in Tennessee.
TPA Honors Kate Cozart With Student Advocate Award
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Pharmacists Association has named Kate Cozart, MEd, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP, BCACP, as the recipient of the TPA Student Advocate Award in recognition of her outstanding commitment to student development, advocacy and professional well-being.
Cozart is an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist practitioner at the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Clarksville. She is widely recognized for her advocacy for workplace wellness and professional growth within pharmacy practice.
Throughout her career, Cozart has trained more than 70 students and residents, spoken at more than 50 professional events, and authored or co-authored eight books focused on well-being and professional development. Her leadership and dedication to mentoring future pharmacists have had a lasting impact on students across Tennessee and beyond.
Her previous honors include being named the 2024 Tennessee Health-System Pharmacist of the Year and the 2022 Outstanding Student Preceptor.
The TPA Student Advocate Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional support for student pharmacists and a sustained commitment to advancing the profession through mentorship and advocacy.
TPA Honors Julia Friedman With Shelby Rhinehart Public Service Award
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Pharmacists Association has named Julia Friedman, PharmD, MABS, 340B ACE, as the recipient of the 2026 TPA Shelby Rhinehart Public Service Award, recognizing her leadership and dedicated service advancing pharmacy care across Tennessee.
Friedman serves as senior director of pharmacy at Erlanger Health, where she oversees systemwide inpatient, ambulatory, infusion, specialty, retail, managed care and 340B pharmacy initiatives. Based in Chattanooga, she has played a key role in strengthening pharmacy services and expanding access to high-quality care throughout the region.
The Shelby Rhinehart Public Service Award honors individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to public service and leadership within the pharmacy profession.
TPA congratulates the 2026 award recipients and thanks them for their continued contributions to the profession and the communities they serve.
