Tennessee Pharmacists Association
You Have a Voice: TPA

The six-year term of Board of Pharmacy member Jason Kizer, DPh, of Union City, Tennessee, will expire in July 2015. As required by the current Pharmacy Practice Act (TCA 63-10-502), TPA will submit the names of five qualified individuals for the upcoming Board vacancy to Governor Haslam for consideration for appointment to the Board of Pharmacy.

In accordance with TPA’s Constitution and ByLaws, nominations will be accepted at the TPA MidYear Meeting, February 23-24, 2015. Note that before the TPA Bylaws were amended in July 2012, nominations were accepted at the Annual Convention each summer. The revision is intended to allow sufficient time for TPA to submit nominations and the Governor to appoint a new Board member prior to the expiration of the retiring Board member’s term each July.

In the event more than five qualified individual pharmacists express interest in being nominated, an election will be held during the TPA Midyear meeting. The names of the five individuals who receive the highest number of votes will be sent to the Governor’s office as TPA’s nominees.

If you would like to make a nomination or volunteer to serve, please contact Micah Cost at 615-256-3023 or micah@localhost for more information about the nominations process.
