At the Tennessee Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation (TPREF), we’re proud to support the future of pharmacy in Tennessee by providing resources, education, and a dedicated space for professional advancement. At the heart of these efforts is our home at 1732 Lebanon Pike Circle in Nashville — a physical symbol of strength, solidarity, and commitment to the pharmacy profession.
A Vision Realized
The journey to establishing a permanent home for pharmacy in Tennessee began in 2017, when leaders of TPREF and the Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) set out to find a space that could serve as a central hub for innovation, collaboration, and leadership in pharmacy practice. After an intensive evaluation of options throughout the greater Nashville area, the Board selected this Southeast Nashville property based on its accessibility, proximity to downtown and the State Capitol, and long-term growth potential.
The purchase of the facility — a 100-year-old building — was finalized on October 1, 2018, and would not have been possible without an extraordinary collective effort. Through a statewide fundraising campaign, members of Tennessee’s pharmacy community came together to invest in a shared vision for a home that would serve current and future generations of pharmacy professionals.
Transforming a Space into a Legacy
Following the purchase, TPREF undertook a full renovation to transform the building into a modern, professional space that could accommodate both in-person and virtual programming, meetings, and events. On June 23, 2019, during the TPA Summer Meeting, the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy was officially unveiled with a ribbon-cutting ceremony — marking the start of a new chapter for pharmacy in our state.
While the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily halted in-person activities, the spirit of the Center remained strong. On May 17, 2022, TPREF held a long-awaited recognition ceremony for campaign donors, unveiling a commemorative plaque that honors the individuals and organizations whose generosity made this dream possible.

The Center for Tennessee Pharmacy serves as the physical and symbolic heart of our profession in the state. It is:
