Tennessee Pharmacists Association

Technician Product Verification Training Module

TPA has developed a web-based training program for pharmacy technicians to earn advanced certification in Technician Product Verification (TPV). This ACPE-accredited, web-based training program is recognized by PTCB as one of the required training programs for technicians to complete prior to sitting for their advanced certification in TPV.

The Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) has created a training program for the purpose of credentialing certified pharmacy technicians in the PTCB Assessment-Based Certificate Program in Technician Product Verification (also known as “TPV”). Presented in five webinar modules, the program has been custom-tailored to prepare certified pharmacy technicians to complete PTCB’s advanced training exam for TPV. See the description and outline of the program below.

This program has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) for three (3) hours of continuing education credit, with the purpose of educating certified pharmacy technicians on technician product verification across multiple pharmacy practice settings, including but not limited to community, hospital, and long-term care. These courses focus on the understanding and education of the roles that certified pharmacy technicians play in technician product verification, including leading efforts related to “best practices” in dispensing, common pharmacy calculations, medication safety, and error prevention. All courses are listed and available below. After the completion and successful passage of all modules, TPA will provide participants with a Certificate of Completion for Technician Product Verification.
