Each year, as required by the current Board of Pharmacy Regulations (TCA 63-10-502), TPA submits to Governor Haslam the names of five qualified individuals to fill the vacancy created when a Board of Pharmacy member’s six-year term expires.
The terms of two Board of Pharmacy members will soon end: Consumer Member Joyce McDaniel of Nashville, in December 2015; and Pharmacist Member Nina Smothers, DPh, of Huntingdon, in July 2016.
To nominate someone for one or both of these vacancies, or to volunteer to serve, please familiarize yourself with the Board of Pharmacy Nomination Requirements, then complete the online form by February 1, 2016. In the event more than five qualified individuals are nominated or volunteer for either position, an election will be held during the TPA Winter Meeting on February 29. The names of the five individuals who receive the highest number of votes for a position will be sent to the Governor’s office as TPA’s nominees.
